6th Siberian Seminar «Raman Spectroscopy»

We took part in the 6th Siberian Seminar on Raman Spectroscopy, which was held from 21 to 23 August 2017 in Krasnoyarsk, at the Kirenskiy Institute of Physics, Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Science.

The main task of the seminar was an active exchange of new ideas and information about the latest results obtained in the field of fundamental problems of Raman spectroscopy and practical applications of the method, establishing close contacts between groups of scientists working in this field in various scientific centers of Russia.

The seminar has proven itself as a way to improve the qualifications of young specialists and exchange the accumulated experience between specialists working in the field of vibrational spectroscopy.

Seminar objectives:

• presentation of new scientific results in the field of Raman spectroscopy;
• exchange of experience gained when using new methodological techniques, methods of spectrum analysis;
• demonstration of the capabilities of Raman light scattering for characterization of materials, biological samples, mineral matter, description of physical (chemical) processes and phenomena;
• exchange of information on technical innovations in Raman spectroscopy and related fields.
